Think Positive!

‘A positive quote per day helps keep the negative attitudes away’

Thinking positive makes life so much better. However, many people find thinking positive, something really difficult to do. If you are struggling with something or are going through a dark time, try and think of 3 good things about your day. And before saying "nothing's good about today", really push yourself to do it! I promise you that everyday may not be good, but there is something good in everyday. And yes, that is a quote but it fits perfectly with what I'm trying to say! The things do not have to be extraordinary. They can be very simple.
                     For instance today:
  1.  I ate an ice-cream.
  2.  I wore one of my favorite outfits.
  3.  I sang a lot.

There, you have it. 3 simple things I enjoyed today. Now, you try :) I find it very easy to focus on the negative things so pushing myself to see the positive things is challenging but really makes a difference. I love using Intagram for that. Taking pictures of little things that you love.

There are two ways of seeing life. This quote represents it very well (and yes, I am obsessed with quotes if you were wondering!):

“We can complain because rose bushes have thorns, or rejoice because thorn bushes have roses.”
― Abraham Lincoln

I know you may think that you think about things negatively without wanting to and you can't really help it. But you can change that! If you push yourself everyday to do something different, something that you love, and do your little list of 3 good things about your day, with time, it will become a nice kind of habit and help you focus more on the positive things that surround you everyday. Last quote of the day :

Also, try to surround yourself as much as possible with people that make your day a little brighter just by being in it. That will help. They can be one of the 3 good things about your day!

I think I've quoted enough today so I'll move on to songs.
Last year was a very difficult year for me and I wasn't happy. One of the things that did make me feel a bit better was music. There is music for everyone. Now, you might not have the same musical taste as me but here are some of my favourites songs that I used to listen to (and still enjoy listening to ;) ! )

BBQ !

Summer time means BBQ time ! :D

It really felt like summer today. We had quite a few people over for a BBQ ! Nothing better than hearing people laugh, music in the background and laying in the sun. A good start to the holidays. Oh and I tried to help my brother a bit! Who said boys were the only ones allowed to prepare BBQs?

Holidays !

Guess who's backkk ? Yeeeaahhh !
I'm FINALLY on holidays and can hardly believe it ! I've been waiting for these holidays for so long, but , TADA ! I can now enjoy the holidays, have a break from studying, and have fun. I'm leaving Belgium in a week (to see Emmanuelle!!! ). I've made a list (already) of things to do this summer, and I am SO excited !
Until then, I'm literally doing nothing, to give you a little idea, I'm still in my pyjamas as I'm writing this and it's 2pm. And it feels AMAZING. I've slept until 12 (which I had not done in soooo long).
I'll get my school results next Friday ( because, I've had exams for the last 2 weeks ) so until then I'm not going to feel 100% on holidays but I'm still making the best out of these days. My exams were definitely not easy, but I still think I did OK.. I guess we'll just have to see!

Things haven't been easy this year, to be honest, I've had the worst year, but I feel like it's also been the year where I have learnt the most things. I now feel like I know myself better and know who I can really count on . I like this quote by Nicholas Sparks, “It happens to everyone as they grow up. You find out who you are and what you want, and then you realize that people you've known forever don't see things the way you do. So you keep the wonderful memories, but find yourself moving on.”

These holidays will definitely help me move on and I cannot wait to spend time seeing friends and family and chilling in the sun !
I'm going to go and get ready now (it's about time ! :p )

Hope you have lovely plans for your holidays ! I will talk to you soon, thanks for stopping by xx

Treat yourself once in a while

It's always good and I would even say, healthy to treat yourself once in a while, because sometimes, that's just what we need to keep going. If you've had a long day, take a break. Do something you enjoy. I like to sing (you don't have to be a professional singer to do that so, as long as your neighbours don't complain, sing as loud as you want ;) ). If you have no idea what you could do, you could draw, write, take photographs, call someone, listen to music, relax, watch a TV show and so on.. This could go on for quite a while !
Of course, don't over treat yourself or it will simply no longer be a treat!
My point is, don't forget to take a break and treat yourself when you are extremely busy or when you need to take your mind off something. Isn't that feeling amazing, when you finally have that hot chocolate you had been waiting for, after a long day in the cold?
I'm not saying you should treat yourself after every little thing that you do but, don't loose yourself along the way. Keep doing things that you enjoy. You are human, not a robot and if something scary or hard is about to happen, and you lose confidence in yourself, do your best and try. Believe in yourself.

Here's a little song for you, to relax :)

Time to rest!

Whouhouuu! My exams are FINALLY over ! :D
I'm exhausted but can now get some sleep !
It's snowing here so it's pretty cold but I'm planning on having a nice hot bath with bath bombs from Lush I was given for my birthday (which was a bit more than a month ago) :) ! Even though my exams are over, I still have a couple of tests to pass but it's less stressful ! This is not a long post but I'm sooo tired, I think that will probably be it.

Have a nice weekend :) I might post something tomorrow depending on how much energy I have left!

Studying

I will not write anything until next week-end as I have exams this week :(
I absolutely hate studying !!
So I'll talk to you soon xx

Happy New Year!

Oh! And I know I'm reaaally late but never mind!
HAPPY NEW YEAR ! I hope 2013 brings you love and happiness!

Introduction

Hello! I thought I should probably start with a little introduction about myself :).
I'm a 16 year old girl who loves fashion, make-up, music, films and photography.
I still have 2 years at school and then I'm either going to take a gap year or move to England! (I've always lived in Belgium for my dad's job so moving to England sounds really exciting :)!) Also, my brother lives there. To be clearer, as all this might be a bit confusing, I'm half French, half British and live in Belgium. I speak both languages fluently (cool ! less studying to do ! )
However, I might make a few mistakes with my spelling or my English might be a little funny at times because French is my mother tongue so sorry in advance...I will do my best !
I have an AMAZING, fun cousin, called Emmanuelle so you'll probably hear a lot about her :) !
Alright then, that's about it...for now :)
Enjoyyy my blog! x
